Yes, it’s practically July and by the time the foliage in your front yard stops simmering from the fireworks, you’ll be asking yourself — now what? Well, if you’re looking for inspiration, the Microsoft Inspire conference could be the place to start. That’s where we’re headed, and we hope to see you there. In fact, you can find Barracuda at booth number 924 where we’ll be talking about all things cloud security and data protection, and we’d also love to hear about why you made the trip to Inspire.
Today Barracuda published the white paper titled “Unlocking the Benefits of Public Cloud,” that takes a deep look into the usage, benefits, challenges, and security trends that organizations are experiencing around the public cloud. The research was conducted alongside tech research firm Vanson Bourne, with the survey results including responses from 1300 organizations in various regions around the world including the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia. The full report offers detailed information about cloud usage data, confirms outlook, and discusses some of the main security concerns organizations have around the public cloud. [Read more…]

Organizations of all sizes are moving workloads and applications to the cloud in an effort to gain new capabilities without the cost and complexity of on-premises equipment. While these are great reasons to migrate, assuming that legacy on-premises security solutions will extend to the cloud could be a costly mistake. Removing cloud barriers is the exact reason that Barracuda continues to expand its Cloud Ready Program, and now offers any organization a free 90-day cloud license for Barracuda Web Application Firewall and Barracuda NextGen Firewall on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure (Azure). In addition to the updated program, we recently worked with Osterman Research to further address managing security in the cloud with the white paper, “Deploying and Managing Security in the Cloud.”
If you’re thinking about a move to the cloud or are already in the process, we recommend reading the full white paper embedded below. Until then, here’s bit more information of the content you’ll find in the whitepaper:
More and more sensitive and confidential corporate data, as well as an increasing number of IT capabilities that traditionally have been managed using on-premises infrastructure, are moving to the cloud. The survey conducted specifically for this whitepaper found that the vast majority of organizations store sensitive data in the cloud.
