Barracuda Networks, whose Web Application Firewall (WAF) has already passed Amazon Web Services (AWS) stringent Foundational Technical Review, has now achieved AWS Application Security Competency for DDoS and for WAF. Achieving this designation is a recognition that Barracuda Web Application Firewall successfully met the AWS technical and quality requirements for providing customers with a deep level of software expertise in Application Security to help them achieve their cloud security goals.
This competency required that we demonstrate a broad range of general security skills as well as specific application protections — and we had to back them up with genuine customer examples. Barracuda continues to work tirelessly to ensure our Web Application Firewall functions seamlessly within our customers’ AWS infrastructure and enhances the already-secure AWS Cloud. This is the defense-in-depth that most customers want, to ensure that the workloads they move to the cloud remain secure, often more so than when they were on-premises.
For customers already working with Barracuda, this competency comes as no surprise, as our software teams are dedicated to helping companies achieve their security goals throughout their cloud journeys. For organizations not yet leveraging Barracuda’s lineup of security solutions, this is one more external validation point that we provide defense-in-depth for customers, regardless of size or industry, as they transform themselves through the AWS Cloud.
