Barracuda CTO Fleming Shi joins Dave Bittner on CyberWire Daily to discuss why development teams need cybersecurity champions.
Cybersecurity champions
What’s a cybersecurity champion? Unlike an IT security staffer, a champion is a proactive project team member. The champion identifies and asserts cybersecurity best practices in the early stages of either design or planning. There may be overlap between internal IT teams and champions assigned to development teams, but the champion is a distinct role.
Join Fleming and Dave around the 9:30 mark to hear them discuss:
- The role of a cybersecurity champion
- How a champion role differs from an IT security role
- How to innovate with security in mind
- Why the champion should be included early in projects and development
- How to measure a champion’s success
