Secured.21, Barracuda’s first virtual customer conference, wrapped up on September 16, and it was an action-packed three-day event. With interactive content for a half day each day, the conference brought together informative sessions, technical deep dives, and even optional hands-on labs. We hope customers were able to walk away with a better understanding of industry trends, Barracuda’s latest research, and how Barracuda’s solutions can help address the challenges they’re facing.
Looking back at some of our favorite Secured.21 sessions, here are a few takeaways that really stuck with us.
1. Barracuda wants to help you build a safer world
In his opening keynote, CEO Hatem Naguib talked about Barracuda being more than just products: “We view ourselves as a collection of people really driven by a set of values. Those values are to always put our customers first, to drive innovation, to take ownership of what our customers ask us to do, to ensure that we’re delivering outcomes, and to look to succeed together. That’s what we see as a key differentiator, on top of our amazing solutions and products that we deliver.”
2. We’re in the post-breach era
In his keynote session on security trends, CTO Fleming Shi touched explained that he believes we are in the post-breach era. “Because of credentials you may have already lost in the past, I call it the post-breach era where the information may already be stolen, so you are likely to going to face attacks imminently.”
He pointed to the Equifax breach in 2017 when the personal information of more than 100 million people was exposed as an example. As Fleming explained, that data becomes seeds for future attacks and helps attackers find ways to identify how people are connected and who might have valuable information so they can build phishing and other types of attacks.
He emphasized the point during the executive roundtable: “We’re in the post-breach era, so it’s not like we’re waiting for attacks to happen. Attacks can happen while you’re not even watching.” That’s why it’s more important than ever to have the right solutions in place to protect your data.
3. Barracuda is driving innovation
During Secured.21, Barracuda made three exciting product announcements across three separate product families, showcasing the different ways the teams are driving innovation across the company.
The network security team introduced Barracuda’s cloud-native SASE platform:
- Barracuda launches cloud-native security capabilities to accelerate Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) deployments
The email security team expanded incident response capabilities in response to customer feedback:
The data protection team launched a brand new product, Data Inspector:
- Barracuda introduces data classification capabilities to help customers find sensitive data and malware
4. Barracuda prioritizes customer success
Another thing that stood out was the fact that the third day of Secured.21 was dedicated to sessions with Barracuda’s support team to help customers get the most out of their Barracuda solutions and learn best practices to engage with the Barracuda support team and resolve any issues quickly and easily. It’s always impressive to see the passion Barracuda’s support team has for helping customers succeed.
A big thank you to everyone who attended Secured.21 and all the teams who helped make the event so successful! If you didn’t get a chance to join us for Secured.21, you can still register and watch sessions on demand.
