This annual guide identifies the strongest and most successful partner programs in the channel today, and the five-star rating recognizes an elite subset of companies that offer solution providers the best partnering elements in their channel programs.
To give you a closer look at the Barracuda Partner Program and how it can help your business, we spoke with Scott Hayden, director of channels at Barracuda.
Q&A with Scott Hayden, director of channels
What do you see as the biggest benefits of the Barracuda Partner Program?
The number one benefit of the program is flexibility. At Barracuda, we provide our partners with innovative security solutions that are easy to buy, deploy, and use. Whether they need to secure Office 365, cloud applications, or physical environments, our partners can provide a SaaS solution or resell our appliances to meet their customers’ needs. They can sell these solutions traditionally or provide them as a managed service, so there’s flexibility in how they work with us as well.
What are the most important ways we’re helping our partners?
Customers have rapidly adopted cloud solutions, and channel partners have to meet those evolving needs. Barracuda is helping our partners secure that journey from on-premises, physical environments to the public cloud by providing the solutions and support required.
We also help our partners illustrate these new security needs with tools such as our Threat Scan for Office 365. This scan detects threats like spear phishing that traditional email systems may have missed. An additional tool our partners are leveraging is the Barracuda Vulnerability Manager. This tool examines customers’ web applications and identifies vulnerabilities to known threats. These tools provide reports that help partners assess and understand security vulnerabilities in customers’ systems so they can demonstrate the need for solutions to remediate these issues.'In the coming year, channel partners should focus on addressing gaps in securing email.' ~Scott Hayden #EmailSec Click To Tweet
What do you see as the biggest opportunities for our partners?
Email security, application security, and network security all present strong opportunities for our partners because so many organizations need help and guidance in these areas as they try to keep up with evolving threats. In the coming year, though, they should focus on addressing gaps in securing email.
Barracuda has the world’s most comprehensive email protection solution so we can help you make email security easy for your customers with our Total Email Protection bundle. Even if a customer has a competitive gateway product in place, though, Barracuda provides solutions beyond the gateway, such as Barracuda Sentinel, which provides AI-based spear phishing protection, and Barracuda Cloud-to-Cloud Backup, so you can help customers fill any gaps in their current email security posture.
Securing the public cloud is another key area that partners should be prepared to help customers address, particularly as the rapid shift to remote work due to the COVID-19 crisis may accelerate the transition to public cloud solutions for many organizations.
What are your goals for the partner program?
Our channel mangers work closely with our partners, and each partner’s go-to-market strategy may be a little different. My goal is the enable our partners to identify opportunities, engage with their Barracuda sales team, deliver strong value propositions, and deploy and manage our best-in-class solutions. Ultimately, we want to help partners grow their business, boost their profits, and protect their customers
