This week marks one year since we made Barracuda Essentials for Office 365 available to the public. It’s been well received and we couldn’t be happier with progress and performance of this solution.
Barracuda Essentials for Office 365 provides multi-layer security, backup, archiving, and eDiscovery for your Office 365 deployment.
There are several different editions of Barracuda Essentials, ranging from email security only to complete protection and compliance. This makes it easier for customers to deploy only what they need for their environment. You can get details on the different editions here.
According to Microsoft, Office 365 is a subscription service that “refers to subscription plans that include access to Office applications plus other productivity services that are enabled over the Internet (cloud services).” In addition to the familiar productivity software like Excel and Word, Office 365 offers SharePoint, OneDrive, Skype, and more. It was launched in 2011 for business only, and eventually added home and individual user options. Office 365 now holds the largest market share of cloud productivity suites.
