SignNow Completes SOC 2 Type 1 Certification, Maintaining the Commitment to Securing Data in the Cloud
Certification Validates SignNow Functionality for Enterprise Customers
SignNow, an easy to use, full-featured e signature solution, has successfully completed the Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type 1 audit. These reports are intended to validate the data security controls of a services organization.
SSAE 16 Professionals, one of the nation’s leading PCAOB registered CPA firms performing SOC 2 audits conducted the process, verifying that SignNow’s information security practices, procedures, policies, and operations meet the SOC 2 standards for security. This audit applies to the full range of SignNow’s cloud service, including its mobile apps.
“By completing the SOC 2 Type 1 audit, we’re demonstrating that SignNow is committed to security in the cloud,” said Thor Clark, Senior Director of Engineering for SignNow. “Millions of users depend on our controls to secure their information, and this investment reinforces our stance on security.”
What Is SOC 2 Type 1?
The purpose of a SOC 2 report is to evaluate an organization’s information systems relevant to security. A SOC 2 report is performed under AT section 101 and is based on the existing SysTrust and WebTrust principles. The criteria for these audits are included in the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ applicable Trust Services Principles and Criteria. Service organizations use the AICPA’s SOC guidelines as a benchmark, in order to demonstrate proper use of control procedures/practices.
Why Is It Important to SignNow’s Customers?

SOC 2 is quickly becoming the industry standard for verifying the security controls of an organization’s systems, procedures, and infrastructures.
