Last month we announced that we had been named the Official Supplier of Data Storage and Security to The European Tour. The European Tour includes 48 tournaments this year, and we just kicked off another at the Gullane Golf Club. The Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open runs from July 9 – 12, and our golfer Padraig Harrington is competing in the event.
The fun actually started yesterday, when the sponsors of the tournament were invited to compete in the Scottish Open Pro-Am. This is a tournament that allows golf professionals and amateurs to form a team and play together. Our three amateur golfers teamed up with Padraig and the four of them went on to win the Pro-Am that day.
Barracuda is hosting customers and partners at the event this week. The weather has been great and the course is beautiful. If you are in the region, you should try to stop by. If you can't make it to this tournament, there are plenty of other opportunities. There are dozens of tournaments, across 27 locations.
The European Tour chose Barracuda technology to protect its back office operations ensuring accurate and secure management and flow of data, which is crucial to the efficient and well-protected running of The European Tour. We have further details of this project in this pdf document.
