Who is Rod and why does the Barracuda team adore him? He’s kind of a key player here in the Cuda office – it’s Rod’s job to keep our storage portfolio running smoothly by overseeing the award-winning Barracuda Backup and Barracuda Message Archiver products, as well as Barracuda’s Copy and SignNow cloud services. His responsibilities also include business development and corporate development across the entire Barracuda portfolio, designing and delivering powerful yet easy-to-use security and storage solutions (but we don’t like to toot our own horn or anything). Although Rod is often on the road, you can sometimes spot him around the Barracuda headquarters or Ann Arbor offices. Carrying the responsibility of impressing an IT crowd with Barracuda’s core portfolio of products, it’s a wonder how Rod ever gets a chance to be “AFK” – but he does manage to do it, and it’s in the most impressively creative way.
Which of the Barracuda team members played tuba on a Prince album? This guy. A Juilliard graduate, Rod’s younger years were focused on music and creative projects. As a sixth grader, Rod took hold of a tuba for the first time (and has yet to put it down), realizing his natural talent in music and making it his first career move.
Spending adult years as a principal tuba player, Rod was a member of the Santa Rosa Symphony and Sacramento Symphony, performed with symphony orchestras across the country and with the following artists:
Natalie King Cole
Big Bad Voodoo Daddy
The Moody Blues
When Rod’s not rocking out in concert, he’s spending time with his wife and two daughters. Married to a mandolin player and father to two girls who are eager to program their first game at computer camp this summer, we’d say this guy has it made.
