I thought I'd follow up on this post by introducing you to some of our support staff here at Barracuda. It's just a little Q&A to help you get to know the people behind the Barracuda Difference. Let's start with Patrick Delaney, Twitter superstar.
What is your title / role with Barracuda?
I'm a support technician with our team in Ann Arbor MI.
What do you specialize in?
What is a typical day like?
I start my day off at the hipster coffee shop across the street with four shots of espresso–getting caffeinated in a way that only network technicians and system administrators would understand. Probably the LD50 for any normal human.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to get in to tech support?
Nothing beats genuine interest and curiosity! The cool thing about technology is it only cares about results! Any person from any walk of life can make a huge difference in the way we use technology.
Getting an education is probably the best thing you can do to give yourself a leg up, but it still pales in comparison to getting involved in the open source community and exploring the real world as it becomes available to you!
What are your hobbies?
Me and my friends like to brew beer, I nerd out with computer security a lot outside of work, Ann Arbor has an amazing community of makers that I'm all about. Cooking is an all day activity if I can manage it. Long walks on the beach and slow dancing underneath a starry night.
Dead serious on that last one ladies, I'm available.
As you can see, Patrick is a bit of a ham. But he's ours and we love him.
