Since we launched the Barracuda Firewall in February 2013, we have received great feedback from our valuable customers and partners about how it helps them implement powerful network security without the performance pitfalls of UTMs or security compromises of traditional firewalls.
The Barracuda Firewall brings next-generation firewall features to small and medium businesses in an affordable and easy-to-use package, while its innovative use of cloud-based technologies provides easy scalability in networks of any size. Check out this new case study (pdf) on how the Township of West Windsor was able to leverage these capabilities to solve several IT problems.
The Township of West Windsor is located in New Jersey, and has a population of more than 27,000. The IT department is responsible for the infrastructure of several municipal departments including administration, municipal court, public works, and other mission-critical service departments. The township transitioned from Cisco ASA devices to Barracuda Firewalls with the following results:
- Network throughput bottlenecks were resolved
- Reliable VPN access was implemented at no additional cost
- QoS was enabled to ensure that critical applications have priority
- Consultant fees were eliminated
- Web security was offloaded to the cloud
By deploying the Barracuda Firewall, the township was able to add features to the network while improving overall network performance.
