We’re excited to announce a new addition to our recent ‘send for signing’ improvement. You can now lock the signing order and emails for a given template. This is great for people who need to send to the same signers, or work with a team and want users of the template to have less room for error. Let’s walk through an example:
1. Set Up a Template With Fields
Let’s say you’ve got a template that requires 3 signatures – You (the seller), your boss (the authorization) and the client. Create a template with 3 roles, add fields for each of those roles, and click Done.
2. Lock the Signing Order and Signer’s Email Addresses
When you’re finished with your fields on a template and click Done, the “Lock Signing Order and Emails” window will pop up. You can skip this step altogether if you don’t have a need for it.
3. Add Emails To Lock Them
Enter the email addresses you’d like to lock and drag your signers into the order you want them to appear on your template, and click Save Settings.Note: instead of entering an email address you can check “Sender” for any email. When this happens, whoever is using the template will automatically have their email inserted to sign in that role. This feature is handy for teams when a variety of team members might be using the same template.
Congratulations! You’ve successfully saved your new signing order and email addresses for that template!
4. Invite Signers From the Templates View
Now, to use this templated order just hover over the template and click Invite Signers. You can edit any emails you previously left blank and walk through the rest of the process to send this document out. In this case, you will sign, then the client will sign, and finally the authorizing person will sign the document.
A Quick Note
In order to make future changes to this template’s routing order and email addresses you will have to enter the template, add or remove a field then click Done. This will bring up the menu to change the Locked signing order.
Hope you enjoy this new feature!
