Today we’re releasing new features for theBarracuda Web Application Firewall (firmware version 7.5). including a number of enhnacements that our partners and customers have been requesting. Highlights of these new capabilities include:
- IBM AppScan Integration: With the IBM AppScan integration, we’ve taken a major step in automating the conversion of vulnerability assessments to actionable security policies on the Barracuda Web Application Firewall.
- Barracuda Control Center (BCC) Integration: All basic Web Application Firewall functionality can now be managed using Barracuda Networks’ centralized management infrastructure. The Barracuda Control Center can now aggregate all of your Barracuda Web Application Firewalls into a single view and allow you to managing services & security policies from one location. Advanced functionality such as Web Site profiling and Authentication, Authorization, & Access Control (AAA) are being integrated and will be available in our next firmware release. We are particularly excited about BCC integration as it will greatly simplify the management process.
- New Hardware Options: For Barracuda Web Application Firewall hardware models 860 and 960, we now have a number of new hardware configurations:
|Model 86x||Model 96x|
|Base Model with Copper NIC||860||960|
|Base Model with Copper NIC and Fail Open capability||861||961|
|Base Model with Fiber NIC and Fail Open Capability||862||962|
- Online Certificate Status Protocol (OCSP) Support: OCSP adds an important capability to the management of client certificates. Administrators can now check the revocation status of any client certificate through the Barracuda Web Application Firewall identity management infrastructure. This is particularly useful in real world access control situations where the security team has to continually manage internal access in response to employee, contractor, and/or partner turnover.
In addition to the highlighted functionalities, we’ve added a number of User Interface and performance improvements that will greatly enhance your Barracuda Web Application Firewall. I encourage you to download the 7.5 firmware today and give it a test drive.
