I am pleased to announce an exciting change to the Barracuda Instant Replacement (IR) service.
The IR service was originally designed to protect against hardware failure by providing next business day shipping of replacement hardware so customers can get back up and running fast. Many of our customers have taken advantage of this over the years.
Now, along with providing priority replacements in case of equipment failure, we have expanded the Instant Replacement service to provide ongoing migration to the latest hardware platforms as well. Normally, ageing Barracuda hardware can be replaced with new refresh hardware units for a fee under the Barracuda Hardware Refresh Program. By maintaining an IR subscription with your Barracuda appliance, you can continue receiving a new refresh hardware unit every 4 years at absolutely no additional cost!
At Barracuda Networks, we continually improve the performance of our hardware platforms by upgrading to the latest hardware and software technologies. We also realize that our customers have periodic hardware refresh policies. We generally recommend refreshing Barracuda hardware platforms every 3 to 5 years to take advantage of the new features in our latest Firmware releases.
With this change, the Instant Replacement program now provides a single, convenient subscription that covers you in case of hardware failure and provides an affordable way to migrate to the most current hardware platform on an ongoing basis.
